Maintaining your health is the best way to avoid illness and injury. This involves a nutritional diet, consistent fitness plan and quality sleep. Today’s society puts stress on each of these categories. The high pace of life, careers, family and activities combined with poor quality meals and increased stress levels takes a constant toll on our bodies and our health. Often by the time a patient seeks care, they are in a state of ill health or injury. It is our goal, here at the La Grange Institute of Health, to not only nurture the patient while injured, but to educate the patient on how to maintain their health, return the patient to their active life and avoid future problems or relapse.
At La Grange Institute of Health, we understand that pain, injury and illness affect more than just the body. Using the modern approach of the bio-pyscho-social model, we take the entire patient into consideration while making a diagnosis. A patient’s environment and mindset affect recovery as much as the healing of the musculoskeletal and nervous system. Alleviating pain is just one treatment goal we wish to accomplish. Restoring proper function and returning the patient to their active life is our ultimate goal. It is important to acknowledge that healing is only the first step to health, a commitment to prevention will speed healing time and save money.
