Patient Information

Treatment plans are highly specific to each patient and are developed based on each patient's condition, lifestyle and personal goals. La Grange Institute of Health is highly respectful of each patient's privacy and individual concerns. Questions regarding a condition, treatment or exercise are encouraged at any time.

Initial Visit

On the first visit to La Grange Institute of Health, the doctor will spend approximately 1 hour with the patient. A detailed history will be taken followed by a physical exam. 

The patient will receive a detailed report of findings, explaining in clear terms what the doctor has determined and what treatment is necessary. Appropriate treatment will begin on the first visit and may include; labwork, dietary changes, exercise programs, nutritional supplementation, behavior changes and homework.

1 Week Food Diary:  This will entail you writing down what you have had to eat and/or drink for 7 days.  Note the time, the amount and the brand or ingredients if applicable.

Labwork & Bloodwork:   Please bring copies for this office of all lab results and bloodwork from the previous 12 months or duration of your condition.

Please Bring:  Your ID, Insurance Card and a Credit Card to be kept on file.  Your first appointment cannot begin without these items.

    Health Tips

    The desire to change one's body is fairly equal between men and women.  Whether the desire is to lose weight, gain muscle, increase strength or just make it up the flight of stairs without huffing and puffing- people wish for change.

    It is good to know that change IS possible for anyone, but it does require the right foods and frequent exercise.  Exercise and nutrition always go hand-in-hand and research continues to show that neither does well alone.  Make some simple changes in your life to get started today!

    5 Nutritional Changes:  

    • Eat at least 1 cup of steamed veggies every day
    • Eat at least 12-15 grams of protein with breakfast (hint: eggs, chicken sausage, protein smoothies...)
    • Drink more water
    • Have green tea instead of that third cup of coffee
    • Omit ALL artificial sweeteners, colorings, preservatives and flavorings. (hint: choose stevia, honey or agave syrup to sweeten)

    5 Fitness Changes:

    • Plan and schedule your workouts at the start of each week.
    • Get good gear!  The right shoes, comfy but supportive workout clothes mean a lot and don't have to be expensive.
    • Find exercise you enjoy.  Many gyms and classes offer a trial for you before you invest.
    • Go for a walk after dinner.  
    • Remember that the body is built for motion and not the couch!
